This is the bizarre buzzsaw moment medics take an angle grinder to an electric scooter stand that had impaled a 14-year-old girl's arm in a fall.

The schoolgirl, not named by local media in the Russian capital Moscow, had tumbled onto the parked scooter when she was shoved as she played with friends.

When she was rushed to the Roshal Clinic hospital amazed medics saw the stand had gone straight through her arm from one side to the other, local media reported on 31st July.

Gruesome medical images released by the hospital show the entire scooter still attached to her arm.

And hard-to-watch video footage from paramedics shows how they had to use an angle grinder to cut her arm free before they could separate her from the bike.

Then surgeons Pavel Vladmirovich Medinsky and Anastasia Aleksandrovska Gromova removed the stand from the victim's arm in a painstaking op.

Astonishingly the stand had passed right through the girl's arm without breaking any bones or causing significant tissue damage, the hospital said.

Dr Gromova said in a statement: "By a stroke of luck, there were no fractures, and the scooter's stop did not damage the muscles.

"After a few days of changing the bandages, and once the wounds were cleaned, we performed surgery to close the wounds."

Local media reports that she was allowed home eight days after the op.

Now the scooter's owners MTS Yurent are investigating who it had been rented out to at the time of the accident.
