Heroic neighbours save girl dangling from second-floor window in China
Heroic neighbours saved a girl dangling from a second-floor window in southern China.
The video was filmed in Hechi City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on August 11.
A girl, around six years old, found herself dangling from the second floor of a residential building after becoming trapped in the window's security bars. She had managed to wedge her neck between the bars, leaving her body hanging precariously outside the building.
The situation was dire, with the girl struggling to free herself as horrified onlookers below scrambled to find a way to cushion her potential fall.
Amid the chaos, a local hero emerged. Yang Shuang, a young man who owns a nearby window and door shop, sprang into action. With the assistance of another quick-thinking neighbour, Lu Yunshun, Yang grabbed a kitchen knife and hacked away at the bars of the first-floor security window.
The two men then performed a daring rescue, with Yang climbing through the newly created gap to reach the girl. Yang scaled the security bars to the second floor, where he carefully lifted the girl to safety.
Thanks to the swift and courageous actions of Yang and Lu, the girl was safely returned inside, avoiding what could have been a tragic outcome. She was later taken to the hospital, where she was found to have suffered only minor scratches to her neck, with no other injuries reported.
The girl's parents, who were not home at the time, were overwhelmed with gratitude upon learning of the close call. They visited Yang and Lu to personally thank them for their heroic actions and covered the cost of repairing the first-floor window bars.
The family expressed their deep appreciation, acknowledging that without the brave intervention of these good Samaritans, they could have faced an unimaginable tragedy.
