On May 22 in Yangjiang, southern China, a dramatic rescue unfolded when a three-year-old girl was found crying and precariously clinging to a second-floor balcony after being accidentally locked inside by her mother who had gone out on an errand.

The girl's cries caught the attention of an elderly neighbor who, upon seeing the situation, was alarmed and attempted to catch the child if she fell. The grandmotherly figure began shouting for help, alerting other neighbors to the unfolding emergency.

Several neighbors quickly gathered, with one even bringing a tarp. Together, six neighbors stretched out the tarp below the balcony, ready to catch the girl if she fell. Just as they got into position, the girl fell, but was safely caught by the neighbors, escaping unharmed.

The girl's father, Mr. Luo, explained that her mother had gone to pick up her older sister from school, leaving the younger girl at home with a phone. Feeling scared upon seeing the locked front door, the girl climbed to the balcony in search of her mother and accidentally fell. Thanks to the quick and heroic actions of the neighbors, the girl was saved. She was taken to the hospital for a check-up and was found to be unharmed. Mr. Luo expressed immense gratitude, calling the neighbors' actions a life-saving intervention.
