Heroic neighbours saved a 2-year-old girl teetering on the edge of a second-floor balcony in eastern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province on September 12. A toddler sitting on the railing's edge of a second-floor balcony cried inconsolably.

Quick-thinking residents immediately spread out cotton quilts below, preparing to catch her should she fall, while some brave souls attempted to scale the building to save her.

The harrowing ordeal came to an end when two men from inside the apartment managed to reach the balcony. They swiftly grabbed the distressed child through an opening, bringing her back to safety.

Neighbour, Ms Zhan stated that the adults were not at home at the time. She revealed that someone had to break into the apartment to rescue the little girl. Thankfully, aside from being understandably shaken, the child was unharmed.

9月12日上午，浙江台州，一名两岁女童爬出了3楼阳台外，坐在栏杆边缘啼哭不止，随时有跌落危险，吓坏周围邻居。众人紧急拉开棉被防止孩子坠落，还有人徒手爬楼去营救。最终由两名男子从房内来到阳台，快速将幼童从孔隙中抱回室内。
据邻居詹女士介绍，当时大人不在家，最后有人破门而入抱下了孩子，孩子除了受些惊吓外没有其他事儿。
