105 miles offshore in a life raft. Waiting to be rescued after surviving a boat fire.
We had just escaped a boat fire. We stayed on until the fire and smoke overwhelmed us. When we couldn’t breathe or see anymore. The captain fires a flare to let any possible nearby boats or aircraft know where we are. I was the last one off of the boat and had to swim to the raft. I was shocked when I found that my iPhone was still working. We’re all extremely relieved and happy to be alive after what we’d just escaped.
