Sanitation workers caught burying trash on beach
This is the moment sanitation workers were caught burying garbage on the beach in broad daylight in China.
The video was captured on the beach in Meizhou Island, Putian, Fujian Province, on August 5.
Locals were concerned that sanitation workers in 'Environmental Group' uniforms were burying garbage on the beach, contradicting established protocols for waste disposal.
Local authorities responded quickly after the video went online, saying that workers had been sent to dig out the buried debris and inspect other beach locations for any problems of a similar nature.
As a result, disciplinary actions were enforced against those involved in the incident.
The workers who failed to follow proper cleaning protocols are now facing dismissal, and the leader of the Meizhou Island Marine Sanitation Team has been removed from his position.
In addition to addressing the immediate fallout from the incident, local authorities announced plans to standardise beach garbage cleaning processes and enhance patrols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
