STORYLINE:

On Tuesday and Wednesday, a delegation of 35 diplomats from 23 countries visited Zhangjiakou City, north China's Hebei Province, to learn about the city's advancements in the new energy industry.

Zhangjiakou is home to a national-level renewable energy demonstration zone. The city's installed renewable energy capacity has reached 33.94 million kilowatts, the highest among Chinese cities in terms of non-hydro renewable energy.

"It was really inspiring. The use of technology, nature, to bring together such a renewable energy, water management, green water harvesting to minimize (impact) on the environment. I think it's excellent."

"It's also good to know that clean energy is being utilized in a lot of means of transportation from utilitarian vehicles to private cars and all this new technology that you can see on the roads today. It's really really encouraging. And it's an example for the rest of the industry to follow."

"In the past, it was very difficult to store solar or wind energy. Of course, there was battery storage. But today we're still here, kind of (have) also a clean way of storage, which is hydrogen. I think this is very impressive."
