Guatemala: Trailer Overturns on CA-9 Norte, Blocking Major Route

A significant traffic incident occurred on the CA-9 Norte, also known as the Atlantic Highway, at kilometer marker 64.5 near Guastatoya, El Progreso, Guatemala. The incident involved a trailer overturning, completely blocking the northbound lanes of this critical thoroughfare.
According to reports from the official channels of the CIV (Comision Intersectorial de Vialidad) of Guatemala, the accident resulted in one person being injured. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured and to manage the traffic disruption caused by the overturned trailer.
The blockage has led to significant delays, with traffic being diverted or slowed down considerably, affecting both local commuters and those traveling through this major artery connecting Guatemala City to the northern regions and the Atlantic coast.
