Footage shows a mole being rescued from a flood in northern Thailand.

A local who was escaping in a rowing boat noticed the small mammal swimming in the floodwaters in Phrae province on August 25.

She used a paddle to scoop the mole out of the deluge, who seemed scared and shaking with cold.

Officials said flash floods caused by heavy monsoon rains across Thailand have killed 22 people and injured 19 in recent days.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation confirmed that around 30,000 households have been affected in 13 provinces across the north and south over the past 10 days.

During a visit to the northern region of Nan over the weekend, acting Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra distributed food supplies to residents.
