A flash flood surged through homes in northern Thailand.

Residents experienced a leg-deep, raging flood due to heavy rainfall in Lampang on August 28.

Footage captured by Nan Kamlaen shows residents removing floating debris and clearing grasses from the muddy water during the continuous downpour.

Local reports said that a soil reservoir at a higher location broke, causing the flood to damage bridges, concrete walls of houses, and tilt electricity poles. This prompted the community to contact the Provincial Electricity Authority to cut off the power.

The water surged quickly within 30 minutes, with some areas reaching a height of nearly 6.6 feet (2 metres) inside houses. Many residents living near canals had to seek safety in higher locations.

The filmer said: 'The water level in our area has gradually decreased.'
