Gusts battered pedestrians as Super Typhoon Yagi lashed in the Philippines.

Footage shows workers sheltering in their umbrellas as they struggled to keep it over their heads with strong winds in Manila on September 2.

Yagi, locally named Enteng, strengthened to a super typhoon category, bringing heavy rainfall across the country leaving dozens dead.

On Thursday morning, Yagi churned south of Hong Kong, cancelling flights and classes.

It is now heading to the Chinese holiday island of Hainan, where it will make landfall by the weekend.
