An artist built this incredible origami dragon sculpture in China.

Mr He made the mythical creature using colourful small triangular papers in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, on August 26.

Footage shows him meticulously stacking each piece to form the flowing whiskers, yellow horns, and claws of the blue and black model, capturing the essence of a traditional Chinese dragon.

The folded papers resemble the scales of the creature, along with the pointy black spikes on its back.

Mr He said he is an origami enthusiast who has been practising his hobby for more than 18 years since he was a child.

Dragons hold immense significance in Chinese culture, representing power, strength, and good fortune. They are considered benevolent and auspicious creatures.

However, in Western mythology, they are often portrayed as evil or dangerous, with St George famously slaying a dragon - an image immortalised on gold sovereigns.
