This is the shocking moment a metal sheet landed on a hospital worker's head as a typhoon approached China.

The motorcycle rider was searching for a parking space when the sheet blown from the structure above struck him in Haikou, Hainan, on September 6.

Footage shows the victim collapsing to the ground, unconscious. Two passersby immediately came to help him and called medical personnel to treat his injuries at Haikou People's Hospital.

The injured local received stitches and a bandage for his bruise and was later allowed to go home to recover.

A hospital spokesman said: 'The man is stable and recovering at home.

'We are also tightening building security to prevent similar incidents from happening again. The typhoon has caused many staff to work under difficult conditions due to the high number of injuries.

'We urge people to avoid going out in such weather conditions unless absolutely necessary, particularly due to the risk of falling objects.'

Super Typhoon Yagi has been battering some parts of the country, displacing thousands of families and killing at least 141 individuals in Vietnam.

The storm, with sustained winds of 234 km/h (145 mph), is recorded as the world's second-most powerful tropical cyclone this year, after Category 5 Atlantic Hurricane Beryl.

Authorities have advised residents to remain vigilant and evacuate if necessary.
