Finals on the 15th September 2024, The charity Surf Life Saving Great Britain holds the Open Surf championship for 2024. In near-perfect weather and conditions over 260 competitors battle it in the ocean using the full range of life-saving surfing equipment from Surf Skis, paddleboards and Kayaks. on Fistral Beach, the home of British surfing. As a Search and Rescue charity with over 10,000 members.
The purpose is to save lives and prevent drowning. Our volunteers have been providing lifeguard training and patrols for 70 years. From age 7 onwards members develop the skills, confidence, fitness, and water safety awareness to become Lifesavers at 16.  The Surf lifeguards have the highest beach safety standards.
Training and operating volunteer inland and coastal search and rescue teams, and full UK Search and Rescue Operators Group members are proud leaders in water safety risk management.
The wholly owned subsidiary, SLSGB Training Ltd, provides training resources for Police Authorities and other organizations that work close to water.
