Mechanics remove huge python stuck under car
Mechanics helped remove a huge python stuck under a resident's pickup truck.
The repair workers' first customer of the day brought the white Isuzu vehicle with a 20ft python with half of its body pinched between the gears of the engine in Chonburi, Thailand on September 20.
Footage shows the snake's upper body coiled on the engine when it was first spotted at 5 am.
The owner and his neighbour drove to the service centre to ask for help as the lower part of the serpent's body was caught inside.
Footage shows mechanics extracting the animal from under the car and being raised by a hydraulic lift.
Three of them dragged the python from the sides of the wheel while another flashed a torch underneath as it resisted them.
Neighbour Praew Jantima who helped the car owner said: ‘At 5am we saw the snake on the road. It was startled when it heard people and slithered into the truck.
‘We had to drive to the mechanics to help remove it.'
After two hours of trying to lure the snake out, animal rescuers eventually extracted it from the car and took it away.
It was unhurt and taken to the rescue facility before it was released into the wild.
The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
