Business leaders from Fortune 500 and multinational corporations gathered in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Friday to discuss opening-up and development strategies with local government officials.

Nathan Stoner, Chairman of Cummins China, voiced confidence in the prospects of the Chinese market during an interview with Xinhua.

"The environment and the changes that have happened over time, the development of Chongqing, across a great partnership that we have, strong supply base, very positive industrial policy, and great people are why we stay and why we continue to invest in Chongqing.
Our history in China will be 50 years, next year.
I think it's a very dynamic country (that) continues to evolve. I've been here off and on since 2002. And as you know, in that time, there have been almost unrecognizable changes in many places. So that energetic, vibrant environment also drives innovation and growth.
Not just in traditional but in new industries, the large and very capable workforce and research institutions in China are driving really strong innovation in many areas that we think are important for the future."
