Lebanon: Lebanese mourn Hezbollah leader's death, expressing concern over escalating Israel-Hezbollah conflict
Sidon, Lebanon - September 29, 2024
The Lebanese residing in the southern port city of Sidon on Sunday mourned the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and expressed their concerns over the unpredictable direction of the escalating Israel-Hezbollah conflict.
Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on Hezbollah's main headquarters in Dahieh on Friday evening, which, the Israeli military said, killed Nasrallah and some other commanders of the armed group.
Hezbollah, a major militant and political group in Lebanon, on Saturday confirmed the death of Nasrallah.
Mourning the death of Nasrallah, the group in a statement described him as "a great martyr" and "a heroic, bold, brave, wise, insightful, and faithful leader" for nearly 30 years, who lately led in "the battle for Palestine, Gaza, and the oppressed Palestinian people."
Resident named Abdul Abed expressed concerns over the on-going war as he said that the direction of the war is hard to be predicted.
