Demand for liquid cooling computer servers heating up in China
(Voice_over)
In China, demand for data servers with liquid cooling components is bubbling over amidst a wave of equipment upgrades at computing centers around the country.
Liquid cooling servers use liquids- water or a specialized coolant- to dissipate the heat that’s generated by the high-performing computers used in AI and machine learning.
Experts say compared to traditional air-cooled systems, liquid cooling servers are more efficient and reduce energy costs, making them the favored option for data centers.

Lu Jian, general manager, production department, server maker Inspur:
"The number of orders we've received has grown rapidly this year, mainly from large domestic data centers and for computing power projects."

As more liquid cooling servers are put into operation at both new and existing data centers in the country, firms like Inspur are expanding their production capacity to meet demand.
As China’s largest server manufacturer, and the world’s third largest, Inspur is churning out roughly 1,000 units per day.

Chen Peng, intelligent production manager, server maker Inspur:
"This year, we have introduced over 20 new smart production testing devices for liquid cooling servers, primarily for airtightness and pressure tests on the servers. After the upgrades, our annual production capacity has now exceeded 300,000 units."

According to data from market research firm MarketsandMarkets, the global data center liquid cooling market is projected to grow from 4.9 billion U.S. dollars this year to more than 21 billion by 2030.
