Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Friday inaugurated a new bypass road around the municipality of Gornji Milanovac, constructed by a Chinese company as part of Serbia's broader infrastructure development initiatives.

"In English, the word 'bypass' is used both for a bypass and for a surgical intervention around the heart, and that's no accident. What is the bloodstream for the body, is the road infrastructure for the state - the lifeblood."
"I want to thank our Chinese friends, with whom we've completed many such important projects together."
"The bypass will facilitate daily life for everyone in the Takovo region. It holds great economic value, linking Gornji Milanovac's future industrial zone with Corridor 11, and connecting the local economy to European and global markets. This road leads to higher wages and pensions -- without such infrastructure, no one would come to Gornji Milanovac to open factories."

The 9.4-kilometer bypass, connecting Gornji Milanovac with the E-763 highway, is expected to alleviate traffic in the city center by diverting transit and freight vehicles.
