SOUNDBITE (Dari): NAJIBULLAH JAMI, Professor, Kabul University
"China does not express its opinion on Afghanistan's internal affairs and it respects Afghanistan's territorial integrity. This relationship is important for the Afghan nation, for its economy and infrastructure in different periods, especially over the past three and a half years, which are very important economically and diplomatically. China and Afghanistan have mutually prioritized each other's diplomatic interests. We, as the people of Afghanistan, are optimistic about this relationship and want the continuation and expansion of strategic issues.
I believe that Afghanistan and China have a long and positive history of diplomatic relations and that should be expanded because this can have a greater and better impact on several fields, such as economy, security, and culture."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Kabul.
