Police returned a lost deer to a local Buddhist temple.

The confused animal was spotted standing among animal statues on a road barrier in front of the Siam Mandarina Hotel on Kingkaew Road in Samut Prakan, Thailand, on October 8.

Locals who saw the hoofed creature contacted the Bangkaew Police Station for help in capturing and returning it to its enclosure.

Footage shows men carefully lifting the sedated deer, which had been shot with a tranquilizer dart, and transporting it back to Wat King Kaew temple.

Local reports said officials initially tried to chase and capture the deer but were unsuccessful, so they contacted a veterinarian from the provincial livestock office for assistance.
