Scary moment driver encounters dozens of monkeys blocking road
Scared tourists drove slowly as a monkey troop blocked a Thai national park road.
Eerie footage shows the driver's view when she and friends encountered the primates in Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Nayok province, Thailand, on October 18.
The first macaque appeared on the roadside, watching their vehicle as they moved along before seeing more animals standing and sitting in the middle of the lane.
They stopped briefly until there was enough space to pass through, avoiding more monkeys.
Driver Kamonrat Thongyoi said: ' There were so many of them, we had to go slow so we did not trigger them.'
Thailand is home to several species of macaques, among the country's most commonly seen primates. While some macaque populations are stable, others face threats from habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict.
