This is the heroic moment a rescuer helped a young girl who had become stranded mid-air on a cycling zip line.

The teenager was pedalling across a cable 90ft in the air when she suddenly came to a halt midway as the pedals became too stiff to move.

The youngster was left suspended in mid-air, prompting Kier, the zipline guide, to launch an immediate rescue on January 2 at the Igorot Stone Kingdom in Baguio, the Philippines.

Footage captured by Riza Atienza shows Kier, wearing a safety helmet and reflective vest, pedalling out towards the visibly nervous holidaymaker before securing a rope to the bike's frame.

He then towed the two-wheeler back to the landing platform. Once the girl was safe, Kier immediately headed back out to rescue another visitor who had also become stranded on a separate line.

Riza said: 'The girl was too scared to move. To keep the bike going, she needed to push hard with her whole body, but she was frightened of falling. Everyone felt relieved when the guide pulled her and another man back to safety.'
