Three paragliders from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand stranded on mountainsides due to bad weather were rescued using a helicopter in India.

British Rosie Darewoord, Australian Micheal Karnik, and Kiwi Barnard Craig Collins took off from Bir Billing, Himachal Pradesh, on October 24 when they met strong winds. The trio planned to land on Fozal Hills but veered off course due to a storm and technical problems.

They missed the track and were stranded in Lug Valley. Two of them were injured before being rescued on October 25.

Footage shows paragliders sitting on a rocky cliff, found by a rescue team onboard a chopper. They were then lifted off the mountains with a rope.

Kullu district official Vikas Shukla said: 'We sent a helicopter to help find them. They are now safe after a rescue mission.'

Rescuers found them between Dinosaur and Fungni Peak in two separate spots. Micheal was rescued higher up the mountains while Greg and Rosie, who suffered spine injuries hitting their backs on sharp rocks, were found together.

They were given first aid treatments at the airport and sent to hospitals in ambulances.
