Man overwhelmed with emotions after trying colour blind glasses for first time
This is the moment a man became overwhelmed with emotion after trying on colour blind glasses for the first time.
Kris Sipe, 47, who has been colour blind his whole life, bought the glasses on a whim without knowing whether they would work.
Video shows Kris trying on the eyewear in his home and immediately becoming captivated by the colours around his living room.
Kris, a Home Depot worker based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, said: "It was so overwhelming to experience for the first time."
"I wasn't even sure the glasses would work so to have everything changed so much was crazy to me."
"It felt like a big light had been turned on and everything was illuminated."
After experiencing the colours around him, Kris went on to watch his favourite film The Wizard of Oz.
He was thrilled to see the horse in Emerald City change colours for the first time.
Kris said: "With my regular sight, the best way to explain it is that things are a bit duller and I don't see exact colours."
"To me, a green traffic light just looks like a white light and rainbows are just a yellow line."
"I've been like this my whole life and when I couldn't match colours in kindergarten, my parents realised what was up."
Kris, who has had the glassed since 2021, doesn't wear them all the time but he will put them on when he wants to see colours.
Kris said: "It just feels too much to be seeing all these bright colours all the time."
"But if I know something is particularly colourful, I will flip them on and have a look."
"The prettiest thing I've ever seen is a yellow fire hydrant. It was just so bright and vibrant."
"I also never knew how bright and how blue the sky is but I take the time to look at it now."
