China - October 31, 2024 China rejects EU's tariff ruling over Chinese EVs (Voice_over) China has strongly rejected the European Commission's decision to impose 5-year-long extra tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday said Beijing has filed a lawsuit under the World Trade Organization dispute settlement system. It reiterated China will take all necessary measures to protect the rights and interests of Chinese companies. The Ministry of Commerce noted the EU will continue talks with China to reach a resolution. The tariffs on Chinese EVs, which are as high as 45.3 percent, have been approved and published in the EU's Official Journal on Tuesday. [Restriction: No access Chinese mainland]
