The iconic Taj Mahal in Agra was engulfed in a thick layer of haze as pollution levels continued to affect visibility and visitor experience. This deterioration in air quality has left tourists disappointed, as many find it challenging to fully appreciate the world-famous monument due to the heavy smog. Domestic as well as foreign tourists have expressed dismay over their failure to capture the beautiful monument in their cameras.

Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) officials denied that this was solely due to pollution and cited fog and humidity in open areas as the reasons. The ‘hazy view’ of the Taj Mahal has been a perennial phenomenon due to air pollution during this part of the year ahead of Diwali, according to experts.

Taj Mahal is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, standing majestically on the river banks of the Yamuna.
A popular tourist attraction, many state guests and dignitaries are often taken to the Taj Mahal to have them experience the beauty of the mausoleum of white marble.
