US: Brush Fire Near Somis Contained Thanks to Rapid Response from Firefighters
Somis, United States - October 30, 2024 A brush fire off Balcom Canyon and Bradley Road near Somis has been successfully contained after burning approximately 1.8 acres. The Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) credited its rapid response, which included firefighters, dozers, hand crews, and helicopters, for effectively limiting the fire’s spread. With additional aviation resources supporting ground efforts, control lines were maintained throughout the incident. Firefighters are expected to remain on-site for another hour or two to complete mop-up operations. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
