US: Caretaker Arrested for Stealing $100K from Elderly Couple, Caught Playing Slots
DeLand, United States - October 28, 2024 In DeLand, Florida, an at-home caretaker faces charges of grand theft, fraud, and exploitation after allegedly stealing up to $100,000 from an elderly couple in her care. According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, Yvonne Wroblewski gained the couple’s trust, then used their credit cards and bank accounts for her own gain. Wroblewski was arrested on a warrant at an Internet café when a deputy spotted her car. Body cam footage shows the moment deputies approached her as she played a slot machine, handcuffing her on the spot. She is now held on a $60,000 bond.
