In Haikou City, a shocking incident unfolded early on April 5 2024 when a heated argument between a young couple turned into a violent assault in a residential elevator. The 26-year-old suspect, Zeng, allegedly under the influence, lashed out at his girlfriend in a fit of rage. Quick-thinking and brave, a security guard responded immediately to her distress calls, stepping in to shield the woman from further harm. Despite Zeng’s aggressive attempts to resist, the guard managed to protect the victim, allowing her to escape the scene. Following his arrest, Zeng continued his outburst, targeting property within the community. Haikou police swiftly intervened, taking Zeng into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
