This is the heart-stopping moment thrill-seekers climb a suspended ladder made of thin metal bars and ropes hanging above a 5,000ft drop.

The dizzying attraction is located on Zhangjiajie's Qixing Mountain in Hunan, China. It is the newest attraction for adventurers seeking an adrenaline rush.

Named 'Via Ferrata,' the ladder is set up at a height of 1,480 metres (4,855ft) and overlooks cliffs.

In a test-phase video shared on October 24, climbers ascend the 168-metre (551-ft) long cliffside ladder, surrounded by sheer drops on all sides, prompting reactions of awe and fear.

A staff member noted that the project is currently open only to media and influencers, with public access planned in about two weeks. Tickets are expected to cost around CNY 780 (GBP 85), though this may be adjusted.

Developed in collaboration with the China Exploration Association, the climb features a vertical drop of over 1,000 metres, with safety equipment provided.

It is accessible to visitors over 1.2 metres (4 ft) tall, except those with high blood pressure or heart conditions.
