Hotel employee washed away from shore rescued by boat in Thailand
This is the heroic moment a hotel employee who was swept away from shore was rescued by boat in Thailand.
Coast guards received a report about Sanadet Sirikan, 34, floating in the sea near Lad Koh Viewpoint on Koh Samui, Surat Thani, on November 7 around 7:20 am.
Reports indicate that Sanadet, a local from Pattani who worked at a hotel, had slipped into the sea while sitting on a rock at the popular sightseeing spot.
Witnesses nearby saw him struggling and shouting for help. They threw him a gallon to help him stay afloat.
Police Colonel Denduang Thongsrisuk, the superintendent of Bo Phut Police Station, quickly dispatched officers, local authorities, fishermen, and jet ski operators to carry out the rescue.
The team travelled by speedboat and jet ski to the location, about 984ft (300 metres) from shore, where they found him clinging to a water container, shouting for help amid rain.
The rescue operation lasted about two hours before the distressed local was safely brought to shore.
The Koh Samui Rescue Association took him to Koh Samui Hospital for treatment.
