Woman finds cockroach living in her ear after complaining about strange buzzing noise
Recently, in Guangzhou, Guangdong, a 51-year-old woman named Ms. Yang was woken up in the middle of the night by a strange buzzing sound in her ear. For the next few days, the noise didn’t go away.
Ms. Yang recalled that last Thursday night, while she was sleeping soundly, she suddenly heard a strange noise in her ear, which startled her awake. Although there was no pain, the sound persisted for five days. By Monday, she couldn’t take it anymore and decided to see a doctor.
Upon examination, the doctor discovered a foreign object resembling an insect in her ear canal. It turned out to be a live cockroach. The doctor successfully removed the cockroach using a suction device, and fortunately, it caused no damage to Ms. Yang’s ear canal.
The doctor explained that cockroaches are attracted to warm, moist, food-rich, and narrow spaces, which makes the human ear an ideal environment. Since cockroaches dislike light and are active in darkness, they can easily end up inside a person’s ear while they sleep.
