Coffins hang on cliffside at world's weirdest cemetery
Coffins hang on a cliffside at a bizarre cemetery in the Philippines.
Footage shows the wooden caskets being held by stakes nailed to the rocky face of the mountain in Sagada, Mountain Province, on July 31.
The coffins were part of an ancient burial tradition of the Igorot tribes that live in the area, which has now become a popular spot for curious tourists.
Visitor Jnyllah Mae Geanga said: 'I had goosebumps when I saw them. They were beautiful, and the story behind them is amazing.'
The Igorot people believe that elevating the coffins brings them closer to their ancestral spirits that are well in the skies.
It was also a way to protect the dead bodies from wild animals and natural disasters.
