'Drunk driver' arrested after getting stuck on railway tracks in India
A suspected drunk driver was arrested after getting stuck on a railway line in India.
The allegedly intoxicated suspect, driving a black Mahindra Thar SUV, reportedly manoeuvred onto the tracks to record a video in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on November 11.
Police said the man became stuck as a train approached. However, the locomotive stopped in time, preventing a crash.
Footage shows nearby residents and police officials assisting the driver freeing his vehicle. Once off the tracks, he allegedly fled the scene in an attempt to get away from the authorities.
Local reports said that he collided with three individuals during his escape. He was then pursued by officers, prompting him to abandon the vehicle about four miles away before fleeing on foot.
However, he was eventually arrested, and his car was impounded.
