A powerful storm wreaked havoc, knocking out power in Washington.

Footage shows authorities placing yellow tape beside the road to indicate trees still hanging precariously on power lines in Lake Stevens on November 20.

Emergency services urge residents to stay clear of broken lines and call the Public Utility District for any downed cables.

Officials said: 'If the tree is on fire and sparking, call 911 immediately.'

A 'bomb cyclone' formed off the coast on Tuesday, lashing the northwest United States and part of Canada.

The weather phenomenon caused widespread destruction, leaving thousands without power and killing at least two as trees fell on them in separate incidents, police confirmed.
