This is the dramatic moment a women's rights group attacked the Ministry of Education building in Italy.

Footage shows members of feminist movement 'Bruciamo Tutto' - meaning 'Let's burn everything' - hurling paint balloons at the ministry's facade in Rome on November 22.

The protest was reportedly sparked by controversial statements made by Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara claiming 'patriarchy was ideological' and blaming gender violence on migrants.

A protester named Anna said: 'Even if they arrest us, more will come. We are the anger, the pain, and the revolution that will overthrow patriarchy.'

Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni had earlier condemned the threats against the education minister.

She said: 'The intimidatory words and anarchic symbols that have appeared on the education ministry are a vile and unacceptable gesture.'
