Los Angeles, United States - November 24, 2024 11/24/2024 11:04 pm (GMT-0800) NORWALK, Calif. – A double fatal vehicle collision late Saturday night brought traffic to a halt on the southbound 605 Freeway near Firestone Boulevard, authorities said. The crash, first reported at 11:04 p.m., involved a vehicle slamming into a tree. A witness told CHP dispatchers they heard the collision and saw trees moving, indicating the impact. Emergency responders, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department, were dispatched under Incident No. 2845. CHP officers closed all southbound lanes at the Firestone Boulevard exit around 11:27 p.m., initiating a hard closure of the off-ramp and the #3 and #4 lanes. Traffic was completely stopped, and witnesses described vehicles performing burnouts on the roadway as a helicopter circled overhead. Tow services were requested to remove the vehicle, and the freeway remained closed as authorities conducted their investigation.
