Malta is looking to strengthen its collaboration with China in science and technology, said Science Malta Agency CEO in a recent interview with Xinhua.

"China is now considered as a global technology leader in the sector of science and technology. We felt the need now to extend this cooperation, particularly in these areas: healthcare, AI and renewable energy. I think twinning with China is extremely beneficial to our country to keep pace. You are the major player now. I could touch and see the amount of technology that exists in every corner. I was obviously in Beijing, which is a hub of technology. You can see it everywhere. And everything was extremely smooth and fast. You can see now that there are areas where the Chinese researchers are doing extremely well, health, technology-connected vehicles and battery-operated and electronics mainly.
