A beautician may have found the next fashion trend - birthday candles flickering from elaborate nail extensions.

The stylist spent several hours working on the bizarre request from a customer at her salon in Bangkok, Thailand.

She said the self-confessed diva had a birthday party later that night and wanted to make an unforgettable entrance in front of her friends and family.

Footage shows the customer showing off her multi-coloured extensions with pastel-coloured wax candles lit up.

The over-the-top nail art theme had nine candles on them and one strawberry cake design on her right index finger.

She delightedly showed them off before blowing out the flames and making a wish. The beautician designed the nails to allow the candles to be removed and reattached by melting and sticking them back into place.
