This is the shocking moment a restaurant worker was covered head-to-toe in sauce after slipping at an eatery.

CCTV footage shows the employee removing a heavy container of sesame paste, weighing 20 kg (44 lbs), from a rack in a kitchen when he lost his balance and slid on the floor in Guangdong Province, China.

He can be seen sliding forward, causing him to drop the bucket on a counter on January 5.

The thick brown paste was then poured over his head and torso. The worker immediately bent over to prevent the spill from dripping further onto his clothes, while a colleague rushed to help him clean up the mess.

The pair said it took them nearly an hour to clear the paste off the floor.

The restaurant owner, Mr Wang, said: 'My employee was not injured. The spilt sesame paste was not important to us—it does not matter. What we care about is the well-being of our workers.

'We can't place anti-slip mats on the floor because water tends to collect there, so we have no choice but to be very careful. But, we will look into ways to manage this so no one else has to experience what this staff member went through.'
