A vertical odyssey: Climbing Huangshan's steepest slopes
This is the tense moment that a climber captured his challenging ascent of the Tiandu Peak on Huangshan Mountain, renowned for its stunning vistas and sheer cliffs.
On June 12, 2024, in Anhui, China, the video highlighted an extremely steep ascent where the steps appeared almost vertical, resembling a straight line dropping from the top. Climbers needed to use both hands and feet to navigate this treacherous part of the mountain.
Despite the daunting climb, the panoramic views from the summit were breathtaking, showcasing the natural beauty of Huangshan.
Tiandu Peak was known as one of the most formidable sections of Huangshan, with an average slope of 70 degrees, and in places, it approached near vertical. The narrowest part, known as the "Crucian Carp's Back", was just one meter wide, adding to the thrill and danger of the climb.
The video concluded with the climber reaching the summit, rewarding viewers with a stunning overlook of the surrounding landscape.
