SOUNDBITE (Chinese): OSCAR UN, Lawyer working in Zhongshan
"I come from Macao. My ancestral hometown is Zhongshan.
Qualified law practitioners from Hong Kong and Macao can apply for a certificate to practice law in nine cities of Guangdong Province after taking a legal professional qualification test. I chose to practice law in Zhongshan. I have been working here for two years.
The business between Zhongshan and Macao is mostly enterprise investment. Macao companies hope to explore a wider market in the Chinese mainland, while mainland enterprises hope to expand their international business through Macao.
We as lawyers from Macao working in the Greater Bay Area help enterprises and residents from both the Chinese mainland and Macao to solve the legal questions.
I hope to act as a bridge to help businesses and legal professionals from both sides to collaborate more effectively, enabling mainland enterprises to 'go out' and Macao enterprises to 'come in.'"
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Macao, China.
