Los Angeles, United States - December 18, 2024 12/18/2024 10:00 pm (GMT-0800) EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Several vehicles were damaged Wednesday evening after striking large debris on the northbound I-5 Freeway near Triggs Street, according to the California Highway Patrol East Los Angeles office. The debris, described as a large rock in lanes near the center divider, caused at least five vehicles to sustain flat tires. One vehicle reportedly hit the debris with such force that its curtain airbags deployed. CHP officers temporarily blocked all northbound lanes to remove the debris from the roadway. No injuries were reported during the incident. The lanes have since reopened, and traffic flow has resumed. Authorities have not yet determined how the debris ended up on the freeway. The investigation is ongoing.
