A little girl made herself go cross-eyed while singing Christmas carols live on This Morning - after her dad bribed her with £5.

Everly Base, six, was excited when she was picked to go on the ITV daytime show with some of her classmates.

Her dad Aaron, 37, a carpenter, dared her to go cross eyed - and said he would pay her £5 in return.

But mum-of-three Carla, 38, had forgotten about the bribe until she started getting calls to say her daughter had done it while singing 'Starry Night'.

The family found it hilarious and were "in pieces" watching it."

Carla, a social worker, from Yate, South Gloucestershire, said: "My husband Aaron dared her to go cross-eyed."

"I didn't expect her to actually do it."

"I said to her before 'if they speak to you - don't say you want a fart gun for Christmas'."

"All of the other kids were singing lovely."

"Then there is her being silly."

Last week Everly's school was chosen to come on This Morning and sing carols during the show - and she was one of 12 names picked out of the hat to go.

Carla said: "It's lovely that she was chosen."

The night before she was due to go on the show on December 16, 2024 Aaron decided to dare her to go cross-eyed while singing and offered a fiver if she was successful.

Carla had been watching the show live but had to drive home when her son, Jack, two, got restless.

But as she was driving back she started getting calls.

She said: "I got calls to say she had gone cross-eyed on the telly."

"People said 'I think the tiredness has hit'."

Carla watched the clip when she got home and called Aaron immediately.

She said: "He was absolutely in pieces."

"I'd forgotten Aaron had asked her to do it."

"You think 'is this kid alright?'"

"She does it a few times."

Family and friends convinced Aaron to give Everly £10 and the little girl has been "laughing her head off" watching it back."

Carla said: "She is my wild child."

"She's born to be a performer."

"She's crazy."

"She's forever doing stupid things."
