An electronic menorah seen here filmed on December 26, stands close to the Christmas tree given by Norway in the annual tradition in Trafalgar Square, as the Jewish Festival of Lights - Chanukah coincided with Christmas Day.

The smaller menorah replaced a giant version, taken down for public safety after high winds were forecast in Central London.
Nelson's Column is also lit up each night during the eight day festival, celebrating the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem, following a Jewish revolt.

Chanukah, also spelt as Hanukkah has fallen on Christmas Day three times during the 20th century: 1910, 1921, 1959, and once in naughties during 2005, making it a very rare occurrence.
