Two women and dog stabbed to death in Christmas Day massacre in Milton Keynes
Two women and a dog were stabbed to death in a Christmas Day massacre that also saw a teenage boy and a man in his 20s injured.
A man, 49, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after the horror incident in Milton Keynes, police said.
Thames Valley Police said officers were called to a block of apartments in Santa Cruz Avenue, Bletchley, at around 6.36pm after reports of a stabbing.
Two women, 38 and 24, were pronounced dead at the scene, while a teenage boy and a man aged in his 20s were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A police spokesman said they were both today (Thurs) in a stable condition.
A dog was also injured in the incident and taken to vets but died of its injuries.
Photos taken at the scene show forensic officers combing the area for clues.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin said the force was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and the victims were known to the suspect.
He said: "We have launched a double murder investigation, which may be concerning to the wider public."
"However, we have made an arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and the parties are known to each other."
"Members of the public will see a large police presence in the area while our investigation takes place. "
"If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach our officers and they will do their best to help."
