Pet skunks celebrated their first birthday by sharing lavish treats at a party.

The one-year-old medium-sized mammals named Almond, Kaoilad, Cheddar Cheese, and Walnut were given a DIY cake to tuck into for their special day in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows the beloved pets enjoying the dessert made from watermelon with yoghurt as frosting and pieces of cheese on top.

They had pink balloons sticking on the wall and a happy birthday banner to mark the occasion.

Pet owner Natnaree Karin said: 'They liked the cake we made and enjoyed their birthday.'

Skunks can be kept as pets but require careful consideration and special care. In some countries, owning a skunk is legal, while in others, it's prohibited or requires a permit.
