Bus passenger accused of 'faking fall from seat' to get compensation
This is the moment a bus passenger allegedly faked a fall to receive compensation in Thailand.
Footage shows the elderly woman, 70, appearing to fall from her seat while riding a bus along an expressway in Bangkok on December 25.
She apparently slid toward the middle aisle and landed on her arm when the coach made a sudden brake due to heavy traffic.
The passenger then demanded 1,000 baht (24 GBP) for allegedly hurting herself, which the bus conductor haggled down to 500 baht (12 GBP). She was also made to sign an agreement to not pursue legal action.
The bus driver reported the incident to his supervisor, who reviewed the footage and launched an investigation. He allegedly found that the passenger had allegedly fallen on purpose.
The bus company said the footage was shared as a warning to other bus operators about potential fraudsters.
