Tourist angry at ignorant drivers clears cars blocking the path of ambulance in Bangkok
An angry tourist cleared ignorant drivers' cars from blocking the path of an ambulance in Bangkok.
Paramedics Chaiyapon Chanchua and Pakorn Wongcharoen, 20, were on the way to the hospital to transport an injured man when they became stuck in a traffic jam on Phahurat Road in Thailand on January 4.
This prompted a kindhearted tourist to step in - leaping from his taxi and assisting the medics to vehicle through.
Dashcam footage shows the man knocking on the windows of each vehicle and signalling them to move aside.
After successfully clearing the road, the ambulance was able to navigate through and send the victim to Klang Hospital.
Pakorn Wongcharoen recounted that the rescue team received a report of a man who had slipped in front of the Merry Kings Wong Wian Yai mall.
Pakorn said: 'I would like to thank that foreign man and everyone who moved for the ambulance.
'I would like to ask commuters: if you see an ambulance with its signal lights and sirens on, please make way for us to deliver the patient to the doctor for their safety,' he added.
Some argue that Thai culture tends to be more laid-back and less assertive when it comes to enforcing road rules, which can lead to drivers not actively making way for ambulances even when they are aware of them.
